PGM Flotation

PGM Flotation Solutions Built Around Your Ore

MetSoP develops tailored reagent solutions for platinum group metal and UG2 flotation circuits.
Our collectors, depressants and frothers are selected according to the ore mineralogy, water chemistry and operating conditions to support PGM recovery, concentrate quality and circuit performance.
Addressing Complex PGM Flotation Challenges

PGM flotation performance can be affected by mineral liberation, particle size, reagent interactions and unwanted gangue flotation.

UG2 ores present an additional challenge due to their chromite content. Effective gangue control is required to limit chromite and naturally floatable minerals reporting to the PGM concentrate.

An Integrated PGM Reagent Solution

Collectors

Collectors modify PGM bearing mineral surfaces to support attachment to air bubbles during flotation.

Our range includes xanthates, speciality collectors and tailored blends for different PGM ores and circuit conditions.

Depressants

Depressants help control chromite, talc and other unwanted gangue minerals that may reduce concentrate quality.

The MetDep range includes options for broad and selective gangue depression.

Frothers

Frothers control bubble size, froth stability and drainage.

The MetFroth range provides different froth characteristics to support the required balance between recovery, selectivity and concentrate quality.
