Flotation Collectors for Better Mineral Performance

MetSoP provides high-performance collectors designed to support mineral recovery and selectivity across a range of mineral systems.
Our metallurgists consider ore characteristics, operating conditions and performance objectives when recommending a collector or developing a tailored formulation.
How Collectors Support Flotation

Collectors modify mineral surfaces to make them hydrophobic. This allows targeted particles to attach to air bubbles and report to the froth phase during flotation.

Selecting the right collector and dosage is important for balancing recovery, selectivity and concentrate quality.

Our Collector Range

01

Xanthates

Cost effective collectors used in bulk sulphide flotation, with options ranging from highly selective to strong collecting performance.

Our xanthate range includes:

  • Sodium Ethyl Xanthate, SEX
  • Sodium Isopropyl Xanthate, SIPX
  • Sodium Isobutyl Xanthate, SIBX
  • Sodium Normal Propyl Xanthate, SNPX
  • Potassium Amyl Xanthate, PAX

The appropriate xanthate depends on the mineral system, required selectivity and operating conditions.

02

Speciality Collectors

The MetFloat Y33 Series is tailored to specific site and ore requirements.

These collectors are supplied ready for use, with no on-site mixing required, helping to support ease of handling and consistent application.

03

Blended Collectors

The MetFloat 10, 20 and 30 series includes custom formulations developed for problematic ores and complex flotation conditions.

These blends can be adapted to specific mineral systems where a standard collector may not provide the required performance.

04

Dithiophosphates

Selective sulphide flotation collectors that provide strong mineral attachment and simplified handling.

05

Thiocarbamates

Highly selective sulphide flotation collectors designed to support recovery and pyrite rejection.

Tailored to Your Ore

No two ores respond in exactly the same way. Collector selection should consider the ore mineralogy, water chemistry, reagent interactions and circuit conditions.

MetSoP combines metallurgical testing, analytical insight and technical support to evaluate collector performance and identify the most suitable reagent strategy.
